Overview
At Universal Wolf, our approach is to work with our customers to create the right paint specification and system for your product. We work with our customers to establish a clear understanding of the aesthetic finish requirements of every product we produce and our in-house experts will help to define (or refine) the best system to suit the needs of the product, taking into consideration its function, user interface and end application such as internal/external environmental conditions.
Tailoring our commercial metal painting process to meet your needs is something we pride ourselves on. We can offer a broad spectrum of paint system and colour options, from single coat systems through to high end, multi-coat paint systems required for demanding applications.
We currently paint sheet metal and fabricated products for many safety critical industry sectors, including:
- Military – compliant to MOD (Def-Stan 03-32)
- Subsea & Marine
- Transport & Rail – both Overland and Underground applications
Our paint shop has the ability to coat using both powder and wet paint systems, with powder being the most commonly preferred option due to its many benefits.
Powder coating is a free-flowing, dry powder that is applied electrostatically and then baked in an oven to form a hard finish. To powder coat metal is to achieve a much thicker coating without running or sagging compared to conventional liquid coatings. Additional benefits of powder coatings are that they are typically more environmentally friendly than wet paint because they contain no solvent, emit no VOC’s, and produce less wastage as overspray can be recycled and reused. In addition, powder coating can be more cost effective than traditional wet painting processes.
Our paint teams are experts in a range of paint finishes, such as gloss, semi-gloss, satin, matt and hammerite to name a few, we can also offer a number of finishing services through specialist expert finishing and coating partners including, zinc plating, anodising, alocrom, and e-coating.
If you would like to discuss your paint requirements with one of our team, we’d be happy to have a chat to offer some guidance on industry best practice.
